OBX Beach Condo Reveal
Our OBX beach condo reveal …finally! It’s been a long time coming, and I’m sharing it today!
Hello, beautiful friends!
Who doesn’t love a good “before and after”?? I know I am a total sucker for that!
I’m finally sharing the full OBX beach condo reveal. It’s about time!! ha! I’ve been meaning to for years, but it always got pushed to the side. Well, since I went in recently and updated the decor, added new things, etc., I thought it’s high time I shared it with you all here.
So, to catch you up, we purchased the condo in Sept 2019. And we were just getting settled in when the world shut down. We used that time to become weekend warriors and remodel the entire condo. (minus the kitchen, that’s the only thing left to do)
I’ll share some before shots of when we bought it, some of the remodel work we did, and how it looks now.
Hope you enjoy seeing it!
Beach Condo Update Full Reveal
“BEFORE”
Just a bit of the work we did…
Removed the fireplace and wall to create a larger living area.
New flooring… (flooring reveal is here)
You can see how the “coffee bar” looked before I painted it blue. Read about that makeover here.
That was a Home Goods find and the very first thing we bought for the condo.
Scraped the popcorn ceilings… (tutorial is here)
Removed the peeling paint from the doors and repainted… (tutorial is here)
I don’t have an in-progress photo, but as you look at the “reveal” photos, take notice of the new trim everywhere. Baseboard, crown, around doors, etc. All new. Plus, shiplap features in some rooms, too.
Whew!! It’s a little daunting to look back at all that. I’m SO glad to have it behind us.
REAVEAL
A welcoming entryway…
… I added the little shelf I found at the thrift store to our small area here.
Your view here is coming into the condo from the foyer area.
See how much more room there is now that the wall and fireplace are gone?? Such a good decision to remove that! Several other homeowners have removed theirs now, too.
You can see my favorite thing!
The new coffee/tea bar.
We made the shelves. No tutorial, sorry! Just 2 x 10 boards cut to size and stained with Driftwood Stain and Finishing Oil.
The baskets came from At Home. I’ll link things that I can at the end of this post.
Back to the foyer, looking over from the kitchen.
We added the shiplap and hooks. (and see all the pretty new trim everywhere?)
Remember that half moon table??? You can see the makeover of it here.
The additional alcove/sleeping area.
It pulls out to make a full, almost king-size bed.
It does take up the whole space, though, but private with a pocket door.
Looking back towards the foyer and kitchen.
As you can see, we have added new appliances. The rest of the kitchen will get remodeled next winter…maybe!! lol
I found this pretty artwork at a market down in the OBX.
Read all about the faux tile backsplash I applied (temporary fix until we remodel the kitchen) here.
You might recognize that light fixture from the “before” photos…we moved it from the bedroom.
The dining and living area…
…and my ‘stay salty’ sign I recently made and added. You can see it here.
A great place to store games and puzzles.
Beach House tray I thrifted, painted, and brought to the condo can be found here.
This end table is another one I made over! You can see it here. It was super orangey, go take a look!
The OBX sign I made before we bought the condo, you can see it here.
We’d like to put one of those long, rectangular (flush with the wall) electric fireplaces under the TV.
The Deck…
I love the new outdoor space!
Previously, we only had this table and chairs out here.
Remember that teak set?? It was gray when I bought it. You can see how I refinished it here.
We enjoy this deck so much now.
The Bathroom…
The bathroom where we added shiplap walls, a thrifted mirror, and shelves, etc.
We plan to put a longer vanity that goes all the way to the wall later on.
Jennette’s Pier is in the photo.
The Bedroom…
A new rug in here. (larger than the original one we purchased for in here)
We originally put the TV above the mirror over the dresser. Now that we’ve removed the mirror, the TV looks too small. We will likely replace it with a bit larger one at some point.
You can see the other ‘stay salty’ sign I made years ago here.
And the dressers I stained with Driftwood S & FO here.
And lastly, a look at our cozy deck, with the new cafe lights, at night…

Hi Nancy, first, let me say I love how the condo turned out!! It’s beautiful!! Everything flows and goes together so well, colors and style. I love the open concept, made for beach living. I know I would never want to leave. Your stays will make all your hard work worth it.
Enjoy your summer!!!!
Thank you, Glenda! I don’t ever want to leave, how did you know!! ;) We love it there. xoxo
Simply stunning! We have booked our first trip to OBX in September to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Can’t wait to visit and hopefully see the wild horses roam. Open yo suggestions on where to eat and things to see.

Hi Nancy, What a beautiful home away from home you and your husband have created. I just love it. A great place to relax, put a puzzle together and play games with the family. I love the light and open it is and the porch, I can see spending a lot of time there. I wish you and your family many happy times there.
Hi Pam! Thank you so much!! xoxo
Wow! It looks great but also looks sooooo comfortable, would be nice to just sit and sip coffee and watch the world go by. You did a great job.
I love the dining chairs but the legs look a little puny?? I have a brother that is 6’2″ and 185lbs., don’t know if they would work for him??
Hi Mary!! Yes! We have tried to make it so cozy and inviting. We just love it! Thank you so much!
So, the chairs, my husband is not as tall as he is but is a bit heavier (195 ish) and he loves the chairs. They are super comfortable and surprisignly sturdy. xo
What a lovely home away from home you’ve created. It all goes together so well and looks like a great place to unwind and relax. I’ve followed along for years seeing bits and pieces here and there. Thanks for the full feature tour!
Thank you, Deanna! So, so happy I finally got this together to share! I have meant to for so long. I guess it took me doing a new remodel/re-do to get it done!! Ha! xoxo
Oh WOW, Nancy. Your hard work has made a lovely and inviting space. I hope you get to stay there often. I love your color scheme and the pieces you chose. GREAT JOB NANCY!!
Thank you, Caye!! We go as often as possible, it’s definitely our “happy place”!! I never tire of it! xoxo
Hi Nancy, looks out beautiful! You have made it into a beautiful cozy retreat. Sorry, if I missed this but what type of flooring did you use? The color, and brand, I love it. Thanks
