I love trays, and I’m sharing my latest tray makeovers, 9 different ways!

Hello, beautiful friends!

I’m sliding in here on a Friday to share some of my favorite things to make over… TRAYS!
Gosh, I have made over so many of them in the years here on the blog. I’ve done a bit of a “round-up” in the past for trays, you can see it here: Tray Makeover Ideas, 8 Ways

Today, I’m picking up right where I left off with that post above. I’m sharing all the trays I’ve done since I shared those.

I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy doing them!

By the way, the laundry room update is coming along. And one of the reasons I’ve been so busy. I’ll be sharing an update on that soon. ALSO, I have another exciting thing happening for you guys. Especially the local ones. Hint hint. Haha! I’ll be sharing more about that soon, too. So, stay tuned.

Tray Makeovers, 9 Ways!

We’ll start with the oldest and go to the newest.

This one is a tray basket. But hey, it’s still tray-ish, so I included it.

A rectangular painted flat basket with a black rim sits on a white wooden bench outdoors. There is a small price tag attached to the inside of the basket, offering an update on its value.

Isn’t she so pretty now??

A rectangular painted flat basket tray in light blue with a metallic gold rim, featuring a vibrant floral design of pink and white flowers at the center. This stylish update rests elegantly on a light-colored surface.

I painted and added a transfer. I just love this one.

How sweet was this one??

A rectangular wooden tray with metal handles and white oval accents sits on a white slatted surface. The word BEFORE is written across the center, awaiting its transformation with a makeover with napkin art.

Napkins are a great way to give trays a new look. This one is perfect for spring.

A rectangular tray with black handles and a white textured frame, featuring a floral and bee pattern with yellow flowers and green leaves from a makeover with napkin art, rests on a white outdoor chair.

And the surprise on the back is my favorite part.

A white sign with whimsical black lettering reads “Don’t worry, BEE happy!” A small cartoon bee hovers above the word “BEE,” giving this piece a charming makeover with napkin art.

Here’s one that will be perfect for summer!

A round wooden tray with a rattan edge rests on a white slatted bench, ready for a sunflower tray makeover. The word BEFORE is overlaid on the tray, while part of a green pillow and patterned cushion are visible nearby.

Sunflowers, adding the paint was fun on this one.

A round wooden tray with a beige background and a painted design of three large sunflowers and green leaves, leaning against a white wall on a light-colored surface—a lovely example of a sunflower tray makeover.

Sort of gave it a completely different look

Here’s a metal tray.

An oval, dark wood tray with decorative metal handles sits on a light marble surface, showing a small scuff or stain in the center. The word BEFORE is written in the top left corner, perfectly setting the stage for a metal tray makeover.

Not much to love yet.

I gave it a little glam.

An oval serving tray with gold handles, featuring a painted design of blue and green flowers and leaves in the center, showcases a stunning metal tray makeover against a white background and brick wall.

Hard to tell in the photo, but the flowers are edged in gold.

How about plastic trays??

Two plain black rectangular serving trays with handles are placed on a white countertop. The word BEFORE is written in the bottom left corner, suggesting an upcoming transformation, possibly showing how to paint melamine surfaces.

Painting plastic is not always the best thing. BUT if you do it right, it works out well.

Two decorative trays on a light wooden surface. The left tray features the word HOME with floral designs, and the right has WELCOME in an ornate style. Ideal for those interested in how to paint melamine with a soft, vintage touch. Both include handles for easy serving.

Fun new look with paint and transfers.

Another metal one here.

A rectangular, dark metal tray with curled feet sits on a white wooden bench, offering a hint of understated glam. The word BEFORE appears in the bottom left corner, indicating the tray’s condition prior to any changes.

I am actually using this one at my coffee bar. It was perfect shapewise.

A glam white metal tray with floral designs rests on curled metal legs atop a light wooden surface. The lower right corner features a watermark with the initials acn.

I love this tray!!

A plain wooden serving tray with scalloped edges and two handles sits on a marble surface. A small green price sticker is in the center, perfect for a hello fall decor project. The word BEFORE is written in the bottom left corner.

And, as a matter of fact, I had been using this on our coffee bar since fall, haha! I finally had to change it out.

A decorative tray featuring hello fall decor reads HELLO FALL, PICK YOUR OWN PUMPKIN PATCH with orange leaves and pumpkin illustrations, displayed beside a white lamp and a mirror.

Transfers and paint, for the win, again.

Who doesn’t love classic, clean blue and white??

A decorative tray with red edges features painted autumn leaves, sunflowers, a blue pumpkin, another pumpkin, and the words Give Thanks in cursive. The word BEFORE appears in the top left corner of this thankful tray.

Yep, I took a fall tray…and made a fall try. lol

A blue pumpkin thankful tray, featuring "Thankful" in blue cursive with blue floral and pumpkin accents, is displayed beside three white pumpkins on a white surface against a white brick wall.

But I like my new version so much better.

Lastly, we have these two beauties. These are the most recent and the ones Christy and I thrifted (and videoed).

A wooden tray from a thrift shop, featuring a vintage New York postcard design and a framed “Lobster Shack Open all Season” sign with red lobsters, rests by a white wall. The word BEFORE appears in the bottom right corner.

The first one (on the right)…

A rectangular white tray with handles sits on a light wooden surface. The tray’s base is filled with small seashells and pebbles set in resin. Nearby, two trays from a thrift shop display more seashells, starfish, and a potted green plant.

This one has the whole seashell-and-resin look. I decided to keep this one and use it on our ottoman in the living room.
And this one, so sweet and elegant with the white paint and transfer.

A white tray with floral designs and French text sits on a brown surface, as if found at a charming thrift shop. A small white hexagonal box and a green potted plant rest atop the tray, which features elegant gold script and pink flowers.

You can see more of these makeovers (and our thrifting video, if you missed it!) here.

I hope you enjoyed revisiting some of these pretty tray makeovers!

PIN it to save it!

A collage displaying nine decorative trays, each with unique designs like florals, fall themes, blue pumpkins, lemons, and text such as “Thankful” and “Home.” Text reads: “Tray Makeover Ideas 9 ways!” — perfect for fresh Tray Decor or Home Styling.

Have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

The word Nancy is written in elegant, flowing black script, reminiscent of Chalk Style Paint For Furniture, with a heart shape used to form the dot above the letter i. The background is plain white.
