These painted furniture color inspiration posts are sure to provide tons of ideas for your next painted project!

Hello, dear friends!

The weather is warming up (again!lol), and I’m getting that itch to paint, paint, paint. Gosh, it’s hard to want to do anything when it’s freezing outside, in the garage, everywhere. Let’s just hope the warmth is here to stay; it’s been so back and forth this winter/spring.

So, to gear up for some of that and provide some color inspiration for your next painted piece, I thought I’d reshare this series I did a few years back. You know how things get lost here on the blog. The “blog” hole! haha Never to be seen again! Well, it seems like that sometimes. I do try to bring old projects back out occasionally, but I need to be better about that. So many good ole projects here, almost 14 years worth!

And uh, as I started to pull them all up to post in here, I realized it wasn’t just “a few years back”, it was SIX years back. Wow. Time flies.

Painted Furniture Ideas – Color Inspiration

GREEN

Green is so fresh and lively. It feels like a new beginning. Like spring.
The word that comes to me when I think of green is: RENEWAL

YELLOW

Sunshine and stars. Big Bird and school buses, too, but hey, both of those provoke a feeling of happiness.
So, of course, the one word that comes to mind when I think of yellow is: HAPPY

RED

Admittedly, not my favorite. Red feels too bright, harsh to me. But I know some love it!
My word for red? INTENSE

AQUA

Hello, love.
Yes, no surprise this is one of my favorites! (again, take a look at my blog’s colors) I adore aqua in any shade. It evokes such peace.
The word that comes to mind is: TRANQUIL

BLACK

I feel like black makes a statement. And should be used sparingly.

WHITE

Okay, I love white, too. It’s just so crisp and clean. It feels open, airy… and inviting. Plus, it goes with everything.
The word that comes to mind for white: BREEZY
Weird, I know, but I just see white in a summer home, white sheer curtains blowing in the breeze.

And here’s an addition I did to this series a few years later:

OFF WHITE

I love off white. It’s white’s softer sister. Another one that goes well with everything.
Hmm, the word I think of is: COZY

A collage of stylish off white painted furniture pieces, including ornate cabinets, tables, and a bench, arranged in cozy and bright home settings. Text reads: 12 amazing Off White Furniture Ideas.

I hope you all enjoyed this little revisit to the past. This is such a great series and such a good source of color inspiration; I wanted to bring it back to the front.

PIN the colors you love above to save them for future inspiration ideas!

Happy almost April, friends! Hope you have an amazing week!!

xoxo

The word Nancy is written in elegant, flowing black script, reminiscent of Chalk Style Paint For Furniture, with a heart shape used to form the dot above the letter i. The background is plain white.

  1. I love it when you go into “the vault” to show us past projects. I remember finding you and your other blogger friends which was about 6 years ago on a rainy vacation day in the mountains of GA and from that day on, I’ve looked forward to each project that you’ve posted. I’ve so enjoyed all your projects, from wreaths to the colors you’ve chosen for furniture, and I think it inspires us to think outside our comfort zone to try something new in our homes. It’s funny how our tastes change over the years and, yet, somewhat stay the same when we return to our favorites with a “twist”. Regardless of which ones you like, all of them are creative and I’m so happy you re-shared them with us. Enjoy the warm weather. I think we’re on the downslide now. Enjoy. I’m headed over to some of the others to see what they’re sharing today.

    1. Thanks, Kathy!! I love that so much!! I am so happy to have you here and sharing in all the fun makeovers/projects. And so glad, too, you enjoy them when I reshare! Yes, to the warm weather. It is SO very welcome to stay!! It’s been a winter, I tell ya! Haha Whew! Have a wonderful weekend, friend!! xoxo

  2. You always manage to amaze me with your beautiful work how you take a piece that people have discarded and unloved and you show love and care to it and bring its personality out. I love to buy things off of Facebook and out of thrift stores and I flipped them and sell them and I constantly look back on reborn pieces you have done and it gives me great inspiration and ideas for the next piece! Thank you so much for your guidance and your details as they are very much appreciated. God bless you all, and may your hands be blessed to create other Dreamful pieces that other people are able to adopt and make part of their home!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

    1. OH, I just love that, Ronda!!! Thank you for your kind words and for also going out and rescuing these old beauties, too. That’s just awesome. I’m so thrilled I am able to help in that. And same to you as well, my friend!! xoxo
