Cozy Christmas Home 2023
Welcome to our cozy Christmas home! Festively decorated but less is really more this year!
Hello and happy Friday, dear friends!
The holidays are fast approaching so I thought I’d share our holiday home with you. It really snuck up on me this year and I ended up keeping it simple. Probably the very most simple I have in quite a few years!
Most years I do multiple trees, all with different colors, etc. All white, blue and gold, red and white, etc. This year I did only one…red and white.
I was really feeling the festive red this year so that is what I used most of. I do think I may switch it up next year though! I think a soft white, gold, silver, and blue holiday-decorated home, minus the red, would be just beautiful. I’ve done that in rooms but never the whole house before. Will have to see how that goes!
Anyway, welcome to our home!
FRONT PORCH
Love all the happy holiday red out here!
It’s the only time I ever use red in my decor.
I love this sweet flag I found last year.
FOYER
This is the perfect example of what I mean. Greenery, silvers, gold, and whites for next year’s holiday decorating might be a fun new challenge!
I do love this look.
I got this “Sassy” Santa some years back now and I still just love him so much.
I have placed him in various places over the years but for the last few he has been right here. This is my favorite spot for him to be as he can greet everyone coming in the door! hah!
Simple additions to the shell bowl, snow-flocked pine cones, and a snowflake. (one of the ones I made when I did this project>>> Christmas Box )
DINING ROOM
I made this sign a few weeks ago. You can see the project here >>> Merry & Bright Printable and Sign
In case you missed it, I created the gold snowflakes on the light fixture from a Dollar Store find.
You can see it here.
This sign is one I made many years ago! Here’s the post for that if you want to check it out>>> Most Wonderful Time of the Year Sign
MORNING ROOM
I did keep most of the decor simple and white in here.
Fluffy white sweater pillow covers, white throws, etc.
I always use this sign here during the holidays. It’s the perfect spot for it!
You can see more here >> Hot Cocoa & Cookies Sign
KITCHEN
Merry, merry!
I did re-use my mini wreaths this year. I don’t think I used them in the last couple of years.
You can read how I made them here >>> Easy DIY Mini Wreaths
And Mr. Countdown to Christmas Santa…got him at the thrift store many years back.
This is the perfect spot and always where he is every year. Tiny little ledge in our kitchen.
LAUNDRY & GUEST BATH
Festive red rug, wreath, and Christmas “Believe” sign.
Still loving this peel-and-stick wallpaper so much!! Did you miss this project? If you did you can see it here >>> How To Hang Peel and Stick Wallpaper
LIVING ROOM
Lots of festive red!
I still love my holly, jolly Santa sign.
And two new stockings (and stocking holders) for Ryder and Piper.
Don’t forget you can download and use these holiday screensavers too!
You can find our rug here.
Here’s the post with all of them >>> 9 Free Christmas Art TV Screensavers
I just got the Buffalo check covers this year. This color is out of stock but you can find the other colors here.
We’ve had this Nativity set since very early in our marriage. I have always loved it.
Merry Christmas free printable in my tray here.
Last but not least, Piper checking me out while I’m photographing everything. (Ryder was lying at the top of the stairs keeping an eye on things, lol)
I hope you enjoyed a little Christmas tour around our home today. It’s certainly not as decorated (at all) as it usually is but it’s nice to do a little less and focus more on enjoying the season instead!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
xo

It’s so festive it makes me want to live there! Your laundry room has more decor than my entire house! :). It’s so plain to see love what you do. A Very Merry Christmas!
No need to reply Nancy, I’m sure you have more than you share of work. Kiss the puppies!
Dawn
Aw, really?! Thank you so much, Dawn, so kind of you to say! :) Wishing you the merriest too!! Kisses for puppies for sure! xoxo
Oh, Nancy! Your home looks wonderfully festive! I love all your perfect touches throughout.
And that Piper – that look – boy she’s a cutie. Hope you have a fantastic season. Hugs.
Thank you, Michele! And yes, she has stolen all of our hearts! Happy Holidays to you, enjoy!! xoxo
Lovely! I’m in a keep it simple mood this year as well! I think it comes with age, lol! I also told myself I wouldn’t purchase any new decor this year, and so far so good. However, I do like to go antiquing this time of year to see all the vintage Christmas pretties, so I may come home with something! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thank you, Vicki!! And, haha, you are absolutely right about that!! Also, I don’t think finding vintage things counts as purchasing new decor! ;) We’ll just say so anyway! lol Merry Christmas!! xo
I was wondering if the little photo bomber was going to show up!!!! Cutie pie for sure!!!
I LOVE a red and green cheery Christmas decor!!! I could never not have it.
All looks good and have a good one!!!! addie xoxo
Haha, I try!! They don’t always cooperate!! lol Thank you, Addie, I love the cheery red too! It just says Christmas to me! xoxo
Love your tree and wreathes, very pretty, you may have mentioned this in the past but love your slipcovers where did you get them? Have a wonderful holiday!
Thank you, Celia! The slipcovers and couches are from IKEA. Ektorp, which has since been discontinued sadly. Happy holidays to you! xoxo
Nancy your home always looks beautiful for Christmas. I love all your decor and your printed signs and your tree is so pretty! For my entire life I have stayed with the traditional type tree that I grew up with. I often still use tinsel lol. I do love it as most of the ornaments I have, I had in my childhood. They were my moms and grandmothers and others that I’ve collected over the years. But, every year I see your trees and others and say next year I’m going to change the look. But then I don’t lol. Maybe one year. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and hugs and smooches to Ryder and Piper!
Thank you, Debra! The main tree I put up (in our living room) has our children’s special ornaments and things like that. So I totally get it! I always have a special tree for those. Then the others are just decorated with pretty ornaments, etc. And I also get thinking you’ll change it up and then don’t!! haha! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas as well!! Thank you for the puppy kisses!! xo
Beautiful. I like to do more holiday theme than all Santa’s etc. Then I can rationalize leaving it up til the end of January!!
Question! Where did you get your sectional? Exactly the style I am looking for.
Thank you and Happy New Year!
Thank you, Laura! I like your thinking! I sometimes leave the greenery and “snowy” things up for a wintery look after Christmas. The sectional is from IKEA. It is discontinued, unfortunately! (Ektorp model) Such a shame because it is hard to find this size anywhere. I know, I’ve looked before getting this one! We actually have the same one in our beach condo. (found that one used and luckily I had bought two covers when we got the one for our home here) Check out FB Marketplace for “Ektorp Sectional” and covers. You never know, might get lucky and find one!
