Hello Fall Porch Sign
Create this ‘Hello Fall’ porch sign with pumpkin transfers to welcome the fall season!
Hello, beautiful friends!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I’m sharing a brand-new crafty project today—something fun for fall. You’ll love this one or be entertained at least by my usual, well….. keep reading, you’ll see! haha!
Oh! I also wanted to remind you about the big sale going on in my shop. If there was anything you wanted to get, now is the time! Shop here.
Hello Fall Porch Sign
I did some decorating on my porch this past week, so I decided to create something new for out there, too. Luckily, when I asked my sweet hubby if he had a board “this” size and “this” long, magically he appeared with the perfect piece! He didn’t even have to cut it or anything; it was in his stash just like this. Yay!

I love doing projects and being crafty, but I really love “easy”! lol So, I was thrilled when he walked right back in with this board.

I painted it with about 2 coats of white paint.
Next, I created these letters and cut them out on my Silhouette Cameo. (That thing is still kicking! I love it)

And yes, I did paint the board on top of a pizza box, lol.
If you are new to Silhouette, here is a post all about how I cut out things with it.
How To Import Your Own Designs In Silhouette Cameo and Welcome To The Beach Sign
I measured the center and “eyed” it from there.

I painted each letter as I went.

And done…with the lettering.
These are the pretty pumpkin transfers I’m using.

I’ve only got a couple of these transfers left, so get them while you can! I’m also having a big sale in my shop right now, too!

But first, I want to give those letters a little sanding to “soften” them.

Unfortunately, the black left marks and dark areas after sanding, so I had to go back over with the white paint.
I used this small brush, which was perfect for this.

But doesn’t that look better?? I love it a bit distressed.

Now to apply the pretty pumpkins!

This large pumpkin at the bottom had a piece extending over the edge. I decided to cut it off and try to use it.

After some consideration, I ended up putting it here.

Cute, right?? Maybe, haha!

Fall-ish? Definitely.
Before I took photos of the porch, I swept the leaves and bugs off, lol! As I was doing that, I startled this little guy…and he startled me. haha!!

I told him he could stay and eat all the bugs, please. Spiders especially. lol

No problem seeing this one from the road! Those letters are BIG.

Right?! It looks like it’s yelling at the neighbors.
And they look all crammed in there. Nope.
Do you see where I’m going with this yet?? Do you know me?? haha

I decided I didn’t love it…at all!! Ugh. You know what that means, right??
What?? Yep.

I brought it in, sanded some of the black off to lighten it up, and repainted it.

I’m a mess, haha! But hey, I could’ve just shared the next version and never told you all about the first one.
That’s not how I roll around here, though. I share all the things, the fails, and well, the “I don’t love its”, too.
And I didn’t love it.
So I fixed it.

I mean, I’m stubborn or determined or something, right?
Anyway, here is what I came up with instead.

Much better! Softer, nicer, and not so in-your-face fall decor. No more “yelling” at the neighbors. lol
I finished it up with a topcoat of Tough Coat in matte.
Now, let’s see the whole porch with this new fall porch sign, too.

Now, I love it!
And a sneak peek of our columns, I’ll try to share the details on those soon.

Remember the napkin decoupage pumpkins I did previously??

You can see them here.

They were so fun to do. I still love using them.
It might be a little harder to read now, but it’s so much softer and more welcoming looking to me.

I’m SO glad I spent the extra time to go ahead and repaint it!
And look at all of these pretty blue pumpkins left over.

I also need to find something to do with these. Wouldn’t they be lovely on something white?
Let me see what I can come up with! Stay tuned.
PIN it to save it!

I hope you have a fantastic week, friends!!
xoxo

Please share your columns soon! I just had new ones installed and I need to trim them out and want to stain them. Yours look so good!
Love the fall sign and yes, the second one is better, even though I saw nothing wrong with the first!
Happy Fall!
Hi Susie! I hope to share them later this month. And thank you so much, we are so enjoying the new look!
Happy Fall to you! xo
I like the second iteration of the sign better as well. And what a funny place for a little froggie! Hope he eats all your spiders! Maybe I should get one, he would get nice and big and fat on our spider-infested porch!
Yay! Thanks, Noelle! I hope he does too!! haha!! xoxo
Oh that sign looks awesome, Nancy!!! And I agree that the lettering font change made a big difference, too. Those pumpkin decals are gorgeous – the prettiest I have ever seen. Can’t wait to see what you do with the blue ones. Wish they made them in an army/olive green. And brown, too. Those would be my colors for sure. Looking forward to seeing your porch column reveal!! Oh and tell that sweet frog he is very welcome. They’re so cute – but I don’t like those kinds of surprises lol.
Thank you, Michele! They are super pretty and go so well on our porch I think.
And yes, he is adorable but I am with you, don’t like those kinds of surprises for sure! Rather him than a big ole spider surprise though!! haha!!
Hi Nancy , I actually thought the first one looked good and probably would have left it like it was . The pumpkins with the leaves make it stand out. They are pretty cool looking.
Thanks, Teresa! xoxo
