Hello friends!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend and start to your week. It’s actually been in the 60’s here and has felt oh so fall-ish. So much so that I did a little fall decorating in the house and on the porch. I even did my first fall craft of the season. If you follow along over on Instagram you might have seen a little peek of it. :)

As you all know, I recently finished painting an accent wall in our master bedroom navy blue. I painted the rest in my favorite neutral white. I can’t wait to share it with you. Soon, I  hope. Just a few more things to do…and find.

So today I thought I’d share some of my friends’ lovely navy blue walls for inspiration until I can share mine. I hope this will help you if you are on the fence about navy. It is definitely a bold color but is so dramatic and beautiful especially when paired with white.
I hope you will enjoy seeing them all below.

But first…

I have to let you know who the 3 winners are for my latest giveaway.  Missed it? See here what I am giving away this time.
A big congrats to Kathy S., Linda, and Lela!

I’ll be having another giveaway soon, stay tuned.

And a little sneak peek of ours that I posted on Instagram this weekend. (not showing the wall but the crown molding on my husband’s IKEA built-ins…almost done!)

It’s a change for sure. Everything in our home is very light and bright and this dark dramatic wall is so much fun.
As you can see, we are still working in here (step ladder, tape on the doors to open them, crown mold not caulked or painted yet)
But we are slowly but surely getting there.

I hope you enjoyed today’s navy blue wall inspiration. Are you thinking of painting any walls navy blue? Or do you already have some?

  1. The navy walls are lovely; I know yours will be stunning. I’m glad you took the plunge and went with navy and love it. It’s so scary to paint a color out of my comfort zone!

  2. Well I didn’t paint a wall but I painted two side tables and used your technique to paint the top a wood like gray color. They turned out really great!

  3. I love , love navy. over 20 years ago I painted my kitchen which gets a lot of light Naval by Sherwin Williams. After a couple of years, I grew tired of it. To me it was too cold. However, I like the idea of painting a feature wall navy. That would be nice to pair with other light colors. Can’t wait to see your bedroom wall. I am leaning toward painting a feature wall in my mother’s bedroom. Thanks for sharing your ideas and inspiration.

    1. I am loving having just the one wall dark (with the other 3 ligher walls). It is so pretty and different going bold for change. I hope to be sharing it soon! :) xo

  4. I have NEVER had light walls. My kitchen has been burgundy and black. Bedroom blue. Bathrooms Navy or dark green. NOW I am moving into a new house and ALL the walls are a soft gray. I am really wondering if I can leave it alone and enjoy the bright rooms! I am going to go look at your light rooms which I love and pray I can stop with the dark colors!!!!

    1. Give it a go for a bit! You might like the change! If you are missing some dark, do what I just did and paint a feature wall in a bedroom or other! :) xo

  5. I have one long wall that runs from the dining room into the family room. I want to paint the wall in the family room blue to divide up the space and give some color. Do I have to put a wooden white trip between the two?

    1. Hi Cheryl! Okay, so yes, you certainly can do that. And it might look nicer or more finished if you do. Or you can just paint one side one color and have a nice, crisp line where the other line starts. I would use Frog Tape (the green one) for best results with that. Is there a doorway on the wall or one long wall? If there is a doorway, you can stop it right at the door. Sounds like there is not, however. Another option, and what I would do, instead of a small white trim piece install a larger, more deliberate piece of woodwork. Think a white square column 4-6 inches wide (maybe half depth) trimmed out on top and bottom. Hope that helps!
