This “Oh Hello Fall” door hanger was so easy to make and super inexpensive using a thrift store find!

Hello, wonderful friends!

I hope you have had an amazing week! I am sharing a brand-new makeover today… for fall.

Too soon?? Ha!

I’m not saying I’m ready for fall…but I’m not saying I’m not!! lol Anyway, I saw this sign at the thrift store and decided to make something for fall with it since it’s coming up either way, ready or not. Right?

Oh Hello Fall Door Hanger

Round sign on a marble surface with green leafy design. Text reads home sweet home. Two small pink price tags are visible on the front. The word BEFORE appears at the top left, highlighting this charming Fall Door Hanger perfect for welcoming guests.

Eh, it’s cute but kind of beat up and boring. Just a cheap-o print.

So I brought it home to make over. (By the way, I found a really large tray/sign the same day that was also $6… and they were half price, so I got both for $6 total.)

Before doing anything, I lightly sanded over the whole thing and sprayed a coat of primer on.

Then, I painted over it with “Snowdrop”, which is a newer color by Fusion Mineral Paint that is very white.

A close-up of a white container labeled FUSION MINERAL PAINT in the color Snowdrop, with 2L and 67.6 fl oz printed below. The label also says paint it beautiful—perfect for creating a charming fall door hanger or adding a fresh touch to your autumn door decor.

A paint roller coated in white paint is being rolled across a light-colored surface, creating a fresh, even layer of white paint—the perfect base for crafting an inviting Fall Door Hanger.

Once that was dry, I created and printed out the words.

A white card on a round white tray reads “oh hello FALL” in cursive and bold letters, reminiscent of a charming Fall Door Hanger, placed elegantly on a marble surface.

Then used this transfer paper to transfer it onto the circle.

A yellow and red box labeled TRANSFER PAPER for precision tracing on any surface sits on a marble countertop with product features listed in white and black text—perfect for designing your own Fall Door Hanger or adding custom lettering to an “Oh Hello Fall” sign. A white round plate is visible in the background.

A hand traces the word hello in black cursive on white paper with a pencil, evoking the welcoming charm of a Fall Door Hanger. An acn watermark is visible in the bottom right corner.

Now that it is transferred, just paint it in.

A white surface with lightly penciled, hand-drawn letters spelling oh hello FALL in a mix of cursive and block fonts creates the perfect design for an inviting Fall Door Hanger.

I’m going old school today!! haha! I haven’t done this in forever.

A hand uses a small brush and black ink to fill in cursive handwritten letters of “h” on white paper, with faint pencil outlines of other letters visible—perfect inspiration for creating personalized Hello Fall Decor or a charming Fall Door Hanger.

I originally planned to paint the whole thing in black. (well, “Ash”, which is a softer black) But decided to paint the word “fall” in Winchester to pull in color from the florals I am using.

A hand holds an open jar of Fusion Mineral Paint in the shade Winchester, a deep red color perfect for your next Fall Door Hanger. The jar shows some paint around the rim and has a capacity of 500 ml (16.9 fl oz).

A white circular sign with “oh hello FALL” written on it; “oh hello” is in black script and “FALL” is in large red capital letters. This charming Fall Door Hanger adds a festive touch to your entryway, making it the perfect piece of Fall decor to welcome guests.

For the bottom, I thought this old stencil I recently came across would be fun.

A partially completed fall-themed stenciling project features “oh hello FALL” text above a patterned area secured with blue painter’s tape, perfect for creating a personalized fall door hanger to welcome the season.

And again, pulling from the colors of the florals I’m using, this is the color I chose.

A hand holds a small jar of Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Prairie Sunset. The label lists the size as 37 mL (1.25 fl oz). The background is blurred with the partial text Oh Hello Fall visible, making this paint a charming choice for your next Fall Door Hanger project.

For the top, I wasn’t really sure if the underneath would show with the flowers over top. But just in case they did, I decided to use a warm color to match the off white florals. Plaster…

A round Oh Hello Fall Door Hanger sign reads oh hello FALL, with FALL in large red letters. Blue painters tape covers part of the text, and there are yellow diamond patterns at the bottom.

I like to lay out the flowers before committing to hot glue. This is what I’m going for.

A floral arrangement of artificial cream, yellow, and purple flowers sits above lightly outlined letters spelling FALL on a white surface, creating a charming Fall Door Hanger to welcome the season.

Give or take, anyway.

And to finish it up, I usually like to lightly sand over my lettering to soften it up and take the harsh edge off.

Better.

Hand-lettered text on white paper reads Hello Fall in black and maroon, with a gold decorative checkered pattern below—perfect as unique Fall Decor. A white circular logo sits in the bottom right corner.

Now to add the flowers…

A yellow hot glue gun applies glue to a small branch on a white circular surface, with a piece of twine nearby—perfect for crafting your own fall decor or a charming hello fall door hanger.

Oh, I also added this rope hanger by stapling it to the back. It didn’t really have any way to hang it on the back. Not the way it needs to be hung anyway.

I laid everything out and hot-glued it to the board. Then the leaves that were left over from the stems, I added here and there to add fullness, etc.

That’s it!!

SO easy!

A round wooden sign, perfect as a Fall Door Hanger, features elegant flowers and leaves surrounding the words “oh hello FALL” in flowing script. Hanging on a door, this charming piece is accented by a gold diamond pattern along the bottom, creating a warm and inviting seasonal welcome.

By the way, in case you couldn’t guess, I’m not a traditional fall color lover. (most of the time, anyway) I love mauves, rust, some yellows and even aquas for fall. Orange and brown, not so much.
