Learn how to create inexpensive artwork with transfers! Create anything you like!

Hello friends, and happy Trashy Treasures Tuesday!

Today, I’m sharing how to create inexpensive artwork using transfers. So easy! Dollar Tree (or Dollar General), and even thrifted items would be perfect for this. Lots of options with all the different decor transfer designs available.

Create Inexpensive Artwork with Transfers

I have probably had these (and a few more) for several years now. I picked them up at our local Dollar General for 1/2 price. Of course, I had plans for them, but I never got around to doing anything with them. When I saw them in my stash, I knew it was time and I knew exactly what I’d do with them.

Let’s make some pretty wall art!

Here they are “before”…

3 small pieces of framed word art on bench

Not bad, you could use them “as-is,” but I wanted to make them more cohesive and group them.

Something like this…

PAINT

I sprayed them with a flat white spray paint.

It took several coats to achieve full coverage. But is there anything easier than using spray paint??

APPLY TRANSFERS

I thought this blue would look so pretty against the white.

This transfer is called Spring Serenade.

For the largest one, I used the script and one of the gathered floral designs.

Then, the middle size, I originally planned to use something else in the middle, but decided to go with another flower instead.

And for the smallest one, I kept it simple.

I will probably spray them with a matte poly because I like the flat look they have now.

REVEAL

I love the blue and white!

And who would guess these started out as cheapie Dollar General finds??

You can, of course, use them separately as well.

And styled up a bit:

Instead of hanging on a wall, they can be used singly on a shelf like this…

…or in a grouping, like this.

Or this…

Lots of ways to use them.

And with so many design choices available through the various decor transfers!

Such a fun and easy little project!
