Las Vegas Trip Highlights
I’m sharing a few of our Las Vegas trip highlights from our recent trip today. Hope you enjoy!
Hey friends!
I am veering way off of my regular posting here today to share some of the highlights from our recent trip to Las Vegas.
Well, maybe not too much as I’ve shared other trips with you guys here, like Florida, Outer Banks, South Carolina and more.
Las Vegas is somewhere that I never really had a huge interest in going to. Just being honest.
My husband either.
We have never really been into the flashy lights and casinos.
But wow, Vegas is so much more than that.
When my husband told me he had to go to Las Vegas for work, I certainly didn’t think I’d be going along too.
However, he invited me to tag along….and so I did! And we stayed an extra day or two.
I can tell you this right now, Las Vegas was anything other than what I’d ever imagined.
We had so much fun.
Seriously, so much.
I thought it was a wonderful city full of beautiful buildings (Can’t go to Paris? The Eiffel tower is here! ;) )
So much to see and do. We didn’t even gamble. lol
I didn’t even play the slot machines….and I have done that before on another work trip to Puerto Rico years ago.
I think I won $300 that time…that I promptly lost because I was hooked and thought for sure I’d win more. haha
Are you a foodie?? You will love Vegas.
So much good food here. Every single meal (and I do mean, every single meal) we had was amazing.
And we didn’t even try anywhere near everything there is to offer here. I think we could come back many times and still have new places to try.
When I decided to share this trip with you guys, I didn’t realize how many photos and video clips I’d taken.
WAY, way too many to ever share in one or even two posts here.
So, sadly I will have to really pick and choose what to share. I wish I could share them ALL!
I hope you will enjoy seeing them. :)
Our connecting flight was in Denver and these snow-capped mountains were amazing to witness.
So majestic and beautiful.
The farthest west I’d ever been was Dallas (and we drove there from Virginia back in 1989!) so I saw a lot of different terrain I’d never seen before.
Like flying into Vegas.
The topography is SO very different than where I live here in Virginia on the coast.
Desert, no green.
It was so wild to me that the housing just ended and then desert and mountains.
The first photo I posted in the post was actually in the airport in Vegas.
So is the one below.
That is when I really knew we were in Vegas…..slot machines in the airport. lol
We stayed at the MGM Grand and I highly recommend it. (we had the exact room featured on their main page actually, and I mean exact (the one you see when you click that link))
We enjoyed our amazing room and we really loved the hotel and restaurants. (especially the Avenue Cafe, very good!)
The lobby.
Gorgeous fresh flowers on each side of the check-in area.
New York, New York right across the street. (and their roller coaster…no we did not ride! lol)
And at night….
This one was on the other corner from us. Looks like a fairytale land.
We were able to enjoy the pool for one of the days we were there.
The weather was just perfect, 70’s and 80’s.
From what I understand, spring is a good time to visit as it gets really hot here in the summer.
As a matter of fact, the very week after, the forecast was 90’s.
The buildings are so unique, quirky and fun.
And just beautiful too….
The “Eiffel Tower”.
Someone told me that Vegas is an adult’s Disneyland. I think that is true!
Yes with the casinos and all but more so (for me, anyway) the buildings and such. (Paris, Venice, etc)
Although, we did see tons of families here which surprised me. I just figured it was an “adult” type of place.
But there were lots of kids, even very young ones.
A cute little outside cafe in “Paris”.
The Flamingo! Retro love.
This was out front on the sidewalk.
Oh, how I’d have loved to see them perform here.
And this beautiful little sanctuary was behind the Flamingo.
Waterfalls, green lush, pelicans and more. Just beautiful.
Let’s go to Italy. :)
So cool.
Beautiful ceiling.
And this faux sky ceiling in the mall/shopping area. So, so cool!
I missed him singing, darn it! He stopped right as they were pulling in…just as I started recording.
Figures but anyway, here ya go…
Inside the mall….
Ceasar’s Palace.
Bellagio water show….wow wow wow…that’s all I can say. (excuse my video taking skills ;) )
A cool restaurant seating area in a shopping mall.
Flashy stairs.
Eataly ….you must go! A foodie’s paradise, for sure.
Beautiful bars also!
And the very last place we visited on our trip…..
I think sort of a nod to old Vegas.
Lots of street entertainment like this guy…
And this crazy light show and ceiling all down the street….with zip lines!
I don’t even have words for this. Or can I even put into words the energy and electricity of it all.
It was crazy amazing. (and a little just plain crazy! lol)
But so much fun to witness.
Very impressed with you Vegas!! We will be back. :)
No matter where you travel to, there’s no place like home!
I hope you enjoyed seeing a small bit of our big adventure.
It was so much more and so very different than I’d ever imagined.
I’ll see you back here on Thursday with a brand new makeover!
xoxo
I am so glad you had such a great time Nancy! SO much to see there. Perfect weather too. You certainly saw/did a lot in a short period of time!
Welcome home!!
It was really so much fun, Christina! I was pleasantly surprised. :) Thanks, friend!! xoxo
Loved your pics and your ātakeā on Vegas! Iāve never been – as a matter of fact, a few years ago, I turned down an opportunity to go there because I have no interest in gambling/gaming, and I thought āwhy go there…and itās tacky…ā. I need to reconsider:)
Yes, same here! Never wanted to go. But it was a wonderful experience and I was so pleasantly surprised. :) xo
Oh my gosh! Isnāt it another world?!! Love your pictures! We went and renewed our vows with āElvisā at a wedding chapel! šš went everywhere you did! We didnāt get to Hoover Dam tho so want to go back and do that! It was just 3 days of fun! Am such a big fan of your blog and all your furniture!
Oh, it really is! But in a good, fun way. :) And oh how fun is that?! There was a wedding chapel in the MGM Grand where we stayed and I teased my hubby that we should “get married” ..again! lol We also didn’t get to do the Hoover Dam. Would’ve loved to have the time to do that. Next time!! Thank you, I am so glad you like the blog and projects, Susan! :) xoxo
Your photography is amazing. Actually, the pictures look better than the real scenes!! Been there and done that and will take the beach anytime. Happy to have you back safely. XOXO
Thank you, Cecilia! :) I told my hubby, the most thing I’ve said on this trip is…”wait, I gotta get a picture of that!”. No kidding, it was! haha It was a fun time, and I really enjoyed it, but I am a beach girl, not a desert girl, for sure! ;) xoxo
