Framed Prints Updated with Tissue Paper
These thrift store framed prints got a brand new update with beautiful tissue paper!
Hello friends and happy Trashy Treasure Tuesday! I hope you had an amazing weekend. We went to our happy place for the long weekend. So relaxing! And so thankful the temps lowered a bit. Made it even more enjoyable.
I’m sharing “brand new” home decor today for my makeover. Scroll to the bottom to see what my friends are up to this month.

Framed Prints Updated with Tissue Paper
I found these at the thrift store and loved their shape and the fact that they were a set.

Not too exciting, and the “artwork” is simply printed paper.
MATERIALS SOURCE LIST
I started by peeling off the paper backing.

Then I pulled it all apart.

NEW ARTWORK
This is what I decided on for the artwork.

Since this tissue paper is folded, it will have creases. Be sure to iron (or steam) them out before applying them to your project.

I discarded the old prints and sprayed the cardboard backings white as a backdrop to my “new art”.

Next, I pulled out my Transfer and Decoupage Gel and applied it to the cardboard.

Once it was dry, I lightly sanded the edges to remove any excess tissue paper.

SO simple! And isn’t this image just beautiful??

FRAMES

Since the tissue paper is darker, I chose black frames. Well, Ash, to be exact. It’s more of a soft, muted black, which I thought would be perfect for the new artwork.
After cleaning them up, I applied one coat of Ultra Grip before painting.

Once that was done, I cleaned up the glass on both sides…

…and put them all back together.

Look at that.
Isn’t that muted, soft black just perfect??
I just love how these turned out.

My favorite black shade for furniture.

It can be black without being so harsh.

I didn’t really have anywhere I could hang them on the wall to style them, so I got Chad (ChatGPT) to whip something up for me.
For funsies, I have to show you what ole Chad came up with the first time. Haha!! Look at the lower photo covering the wall trim. So ridiculous.lol

I straightened it out, though. Here you go.

Isn’t that so pretty?? All the colors in the room blend so perfectly with my new artwork.

Thank you, Gina!! xo
Well, I thought I commented on these beautiful pieces but I guess not. These are lovely. I love anything floral and yes, they look beautiful in the room with all those colors. Silly Chad, I guess he thought that was creative….nope! See you next time. BTW….fall is on the way, I can’t wait to see what you come up with for cooler weather.
Thank you, Kathy! Yes, haha, Chad is a character!! So happy for fall!! xo
I love the tissue paper and the new dramatic look of the frames! Kathy
Thanks, Kathy! xo
So pretty! They look great in your room. I have to catch up as your room looks very different from what I remember. Love the shade of that black paint. Very nice.
Thanks, Debra!! Oh no, that’s not my room, you haven’t missed anything! That’s just a mock-up showing what the new art looks like, made by ChatGPT. Just for funsies! xo
Hi Nancy! So pretty! I need to see your coffee table. Was this a DIY? Prima has so many pretty papers out. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Cheryl! Thank you! Oh, that’s not mine. That is an image that “Chad” (Chatgpt) came up with to showcase my makeover framed prints. Goes well, I think! xo
Pretty. They seem to look larger in Chad’s pics or am I imagining that? Are they that big?
Thanks, Jeanne!! Yes, oddly, Chad did make them a little fatter, I think. You are definitely not imagining it, they are skinnier in real life! xo
