Happy New Year’s Eve!!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful and blessed holiday season so far.

Since it’s the very last day of the year, I thought it’d be fun to share the TOP TEN posts {Best of 2013} with you all.

Here they are:

Best of 2013

 As I was writing these posts I had NO idea which ones (if any!!) would be a hit.
Actually, in all honesty, I didn’t really expect any to be. ;)

But it sure has been fun to see what was most interesting to all of you.

Here they are in order… The Top Ten.

……………………………………………………………………

Number 1 post of all time:
Super Easy Way To Update Wood Stained Furniture

Best of 1

 Minwax PolyShades.
Great stuff and apparently you all love what it can do!
It really does make it easy to change up your wood stained furniture….with minimal elbow grease. ;)
Who wouldn’t love that?

Top post number 2:
Chalk Paint…It’s Not Just For Furniture

 Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Not Just For Furniture / Artsy Chicks Rule
It’s no wonder this is number 2.
Chalk Paint has made a huge impact on the blog world in the last few years.
AND there is no question that I LOVE it! ;) (and use it on just about everything too, right? Yep.)

Top post number 3:
Easy, No Sew Curtain Panels

No Sew Curtain Panels - Inexpensive and Easy
These were super simple (maybe that’s why they were so popular!) and made in one evening’s time.
Super easy and so inexpensive to make. Anyone can do it!

Top post number 4:
Many Uses of Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze (ORB) Spray Paint

Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint - The "miracle" product!No surprise here at all!!
I LOVE this stuff and have painted a million things with it.
If you’ve never used it, go buy some and paint something. :)

Top post number 5:
Estate Sale Sideboard {2nd Time’s the Charm}

Antique Sideboard Makeover - Chalk Paint-Graphics

This poor little guy didn’t start out so well.
And I didn’t help it along much with the first paint job either. ;)
BUT…..I finally got it right and transformed it into this.
Frenchy fabulous.
Check out the before (and my first paint choice!)

Top post number 6:
Kitchen Tile Backsplash {Do-It-Yourself}

Kitchen Tile Backsplash Collage

This one was a hit….even without a full on tutorial.
Sadly, I completed this project a few years before I started blogging so don’t have pictures of the process during application.
But…it was SO easy I had to share it with you all the best I could.
I do have plans to do more tiling this way and will definitely take pictures during the process.

Top post number 7:
Old Milk Can Makeover {Tutorial}

Milk Can Redo with Graphics Before and After

Who knew old milk cans were so popular?? I surely didn’t!
But I fell in love with this old can I found at the thrift store for $12.
It’s a favorite project of mine…and a keeper! It resides in the corner of my kitchen. :)

Top post number 8:
Chalk Painted Porch Pillows {Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®}

Chalk Painted Pillows Before-After (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint)

I think this one was just more of shocker…paint pillows? With Chalk Paint??
Yep, I did…..I’ve painted just about everything else so why not?
It worked well and they have held up fantastically.

Top post number 9:
“Coffee Bar” Server w/Shelves – It Moved!

Coffee Bar Station (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint) with Shelves

I love this little “serving station” and even more so since I moved it and added the shelves.
Such a simple little change up….but made a huge difference!
(the original post to this one wasn’t as popular….you guys must like the move & changes too…it’s been pinned over 22,000 times so far! :) )

Top post number 10:
Kitchen Cabinet Makeover {Annie Sloan Chalk Paint}

Kitchen Before and After Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
Well now….this is one of MY very most favorites…so I’m glad it made it into the top 10!
I love my remodeled kitchen (although it’s about to get some more remodeling in the New Year with new counter tops and farm house sink-SO excited!)
But painting with Chalk Paint on the cabinets was a breeze.
And believe it….I painted them with Chalk Paint twice in less than 2 weeks….

  1. Nancy, It’s hard to pick my favorite but I think it’s the coffee bar server. I also am amazed at the difference the dark stain made on the first piece! I have never ever used stain. I’m scared of it! Happy New Year!!

    1. Thanks Kathy! It’s a favorite of mine…and has been really popular! Oh stain is not too scary…just like paint, easy to redo and fix! ;)
      Happy New Year!

  2. Thanks for the reminder of all the great things I have learned from you… and the inspiration I got from your projects! You are the one who gave me the courage to paint my breakfast area chandelier shade with chalk paint… and my breakfast area set, too. I’m actually going to finish those chairs and table now that the holidays are over!

    Thank you, Nancy, for a great 2013. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us in 2014!

    Happy New Year! xo

    1. Aw thanks Karen! :) Yes, and I can’t wait to see those chairs finished!! ;)
